Hi! My cyberbuddies know me as
Yasmin. My real friends know me as Megan. By day I'm a mild-mannered
student and associate producer at a local TV station. By night...um...er...best leave
well-enough alone. I'm originally from Tuttle, Oklahoma, but I moved to
Las Vegas in January of 1992. Big-a** culture shock moving from a town
of 3051 (according to the last census) to a city of 1 million strong and
growing. I'm a Spring 1997 refugee of UNLV who barely escaped with my life,
a degree in Communications Studies/Broadcasting, and a minor in political
science. My immediate family is pretty extensive: a mom and dad here who are
moving back to Oklahoma on March 16, 2000 or thereabouts, a worthless, no-good brother we dumped back in Oklahoma (JUST
KIDDING Troy! You know I love ya!), three pekingneses
(who are going back with mum and pop), four guinea
pigs,
and at least 20 (right now) fish. I also have an aunt and uncle who live here in
Vegas.
I have many loves in life: First,
is my writing. Why else would I have put up a writing
site? :-) I dabble
in poetry and have a few novels in the works (perpetually in the works).
I also like music and animals. I also love arts and crafts, mainly crosstitch
and beadwork. Local coffeehouses are my haunt of choice. (And I'm not talking
Starbucks). I mean the underground, smoke-filled coffeehouse that are chock
full of culture. My favorite is Cafe Espresso Roma right across the street
from the University. Open mike music at the Enigma Garden Cafe on Monday
nights and poetry readings on Wednesday and Saturday nights, plus other local
cultural
events here and there. I'm also big time into photography and
cyberart. Be it fractal, 3D or other types of cyberart, I like to think I
have a visual eye for these kinds of things. Check out Yasmin's
Sixth Sense Visual Arts Gallery.
