This album I admit took a bit to grow on me at first. It's a bit different from anything Simply Red had done previously, with much more of a dance tempo. But the classic elements of Simply Red soul are still there on tracks like "You Make Me Believe" and "So Beautiful." The first single, "Fairground," is sure to get people out on the dance floor with its uptempo drumbeat.
As usual Mick Hucknall hits the nail right on the head so far as
pinning down emotions we can all relate to (hence the "Life" theme).
Love, rememberance, ending relationships, who hasn't dealt with that at
one time or another? That's.....well, life! This album may
not be your usual Simply Red fare, but trust me, it's worth the couple
of spins it may take to really get into it.
